Vacancy: Policy Associate

Are you keen on playing part in shaping the future of digital policy in Europe? DOT Europe, the voice of leading internet companies in the region, is seeking a dynamic Policy Associate to join our enthusiastic team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing our stance on crucial EU digital policy matters, focusing on data, artificial intelligence, and consumer policy.

As a Policy Associate, you’ll collaborate closely with corporate and political experts, managing 2 of our working groups, producing advocacy materials, and providing insightful analysis to our members. Your responsibilities will include representing DOT Europe at public events, building networks within EU institutions, and organizing engaging activities.

We’re looking for a team player with a strong academic background and at least 3 years of experience in European affairs. Knowledge of digital policy is advantageous, along with excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude. Full job specifications: 

Main tasks

  • Managing the User and Data Working groups of company representatives to develop the association’s position on issues of relevance
  • Responsible for the production and dissemination of policy papers and other advocacy materials
  • Provide analysis and advice on policy matters to our corporate members
  • Representing DOT Europe in public-facing events, meetings and other forums related to your policy files
  • Develop a network of contacts within the EU institutions and stakeholder community
  • Organise activities including meeting, conferences, seminars
  • Support in the roll-out of communications initiatives

Qualifications

  • University or advanced degree in Social Sciences, Political Sciences (EU studies, Political Science, International Relations), European law, etc.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in European affairs; knowledge of and strong interest in digital policy is a plus
  • Solid understanding of the EU institutions and their workings, the legislative process and the policy context
  • Excellent English and diplomatic writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally and independently with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in handling EU dossiers
  • Strategic foresight and highly developed networking skills
  • Cheerful team player with a good sense of humour
