EDiMA Reaction: Europe’s vision for digital future

“As President Von der Leyen said today, the digital transformation can power the European economy, and we’re encouraged by this starting point. Our focus now will be to engage with the Commission to turn this vision into a reality and we will engage collaboratively to address some of our shared concerns” said Siada El Ramly, Director General of EDiMA, the voice of the leading internet companies and the most popular internet products in Europe.

The announcement of an AI White paper, a European strategy for data and communication on shaping the EU’s digital future demonstrates that the European Commission is prioritising digital files which is encouraging.

“Our recent Online Responsibility paper, sets out our view of how digital platforms can take on more responsibility to address concerns that exist. We look forward to proposing ideas and solutions on each of the areas presented today” said El Ramly.
