DOT Europe’s reaction to the interinstitutional agreement on the DSA

22 April 2022, Brussels, Belgium – DOT Europe would like to congratulate the European Commission, Council and the European Parliament on the agreement reached today on the Digital Services Act (DSA).

Today’s agreement marks a very important step for the online ecosystem. After a year and a half of intense work, a revised EU framework which updates and clarifies horizontal rules and responsibilities online has become a reality. DOT Europe would like to thank the European Commission for its strong proposal and its continuous input throughout the negotiations. We are pleased to see that the European Parliament and Council recognised the importance of this framework legislation and did their utmost to find compromises and efficiently make progress on the file.” said Siada El Ramly, Director General of DOT Europe.

DOT Europe is eagerly waiting for more clarity on the outcome of the final negotiations and will remain a committed stakeholder in the context of the upcoming technical debates.
